Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum Toxin (eg. Botox) is a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium A. Botox injections involves a series of small injections in order to weaken the chosen muscles for example between the brows or around the eyes. Weakening of the injected muscles begins to be apparent after 2-3 days with the peak effect being reached after 10-14 days. Results can last 3-6 months. The procedure can be repeated after 3 months; however, injections given less than 3 months apart may reduce the efficiency of the injections.

Dermal Filler

Dermal filler is a soft injectable gel consisting of stabilised hyaluronic acid. It is inserted under layers of the skin to soften lines, folds and wrinkles and to give volume. Traditionally, most common areas treated with dermal fillers are lips and the lines from the nose to the corner of the mouth. However, advances in filler products and techniques now allow us to treat more areas in the upper/ mid face such as the cheeks, jaw, nose and under the eyes.

DOES IT HURT?

The fillers we use contain a pre-mixed anaesthetic, this plus the application of numbing cream to the site of injection minimises any pain. Additionally, some our techniques include the use of a blunt end cannula ensure a precise virtually pain free treatment.
